2024 Recap: An opening nine of GolfN highlights

It was a transformative year for the game of golf in more ways than one, from the pro tours competing for stars and attention, or new alternative golf concepts and YouTube stars continuing to grow interest in the sport around the world.

The momentum of golf this decade continues to gain steam with more and more people taking up the sport with more and more novel and fun ways to play and engage with it emerging worldwide.

For GolfN, 2024 was a preparatory year for a big 2025 when the GolfN app officially came to market and changed the game forever. But in the meantime, we built a ton and wanted to share the biggest milestones.

It was a dizzying year that flew by quickly so let’s recap with a front nine of milestones shipped by GolfN in in 2024.

Genesis Collection Drop

In April, GolfN released its Genesis collection and pack drop which sold out immediately. The pack opening experience featured an immersive animated digital experience that revealed your cards, elevating the collector experience on Solana. If you haven’t opened your pack yet, be sure to do so and enjoy the show!

Axiom Foundation Partnership

Axiom Foundation announced this summer it will partner with GolfN to accelerate the field of Play-to-earn in real-world golf. The non-profit foundation has committed to providing blockchain infrastructure for GolfN which will initially include an allocation of the SPL $GOLF token for utility in the GolfN mobile app. GolfN will be a major player in a growing sporting ecosystem on chain powered by Axiom.

App Closed Beta Launch

This summer, the GolfN Devs shipped a functional GPS and scoring app to Test Flight, featuring a global database of golf courses using robust, colorful maps, detailed gps, scorecard and advanced analytics. This is the foundation of what will be the next generation of golf engagement apps on the marketplace. The closed beta is currently being used by a select number of core team members and testers and will be rolled out to more community members soon.

Pre-seed Fundraise

This summer GolfN announced the closure of its $1.3 million Pre-Seed funding round. The round saw participation by prominent blockchain investors, including leading personalities and projects in the Solana ecosystem: CitizenX, Fourth Revolution Capital, Nom, and Joe McCann (Asymmetric Financial) – among others.

This pre-seed round has enabled GolfN to bring a host of features to market already and keep the app on schedule for a public launch this spring.

The GolfN Clubhouse 

The Clubhouse opened its doors. This custom-built community hub for the GolfN community features a variety of interactive rooms. So far, there have been AMA hangouts, poker nights, and exclusive minting experiences. There’s always something to see and do, go take a look around!

Pro Shop 

This fall GolfN revealed its very own pro shop stocked with loads of items from premium golf brands like Holderness & Bourne, Branded Bills, Seamus and Jones. Not only can you select from scores of different combinations of items, but through its Shopify/Helio integration, you can pay with crypto on the Solana network (USDC, USDT, SOL or BONK). GolfN has even added token-gated 30% off discounts for Genesis collectible holders.

Introducing The Portal

This summer, The Portal was launched as the place for GolfN holders to gain and use GolfN XP through their digital collectibles.

Step 1: Cache your complete genesis sets to earn daily XP. Or cache BONK Badges for XP bonuses. Don’t have a set? You can connect your wallet to the portal and browse the sets and find direct links to buy the cards you need.

Step 2: Use your XP in the store for sweepstakes on epic experiences. The first was a highly-coveted bottle of Pappy Van Winkle 20-year Family Reserve. There’s a huge and growing lineup of items to win in the Store. Be sure to check it out and keep caching those cards to stack XP!

BONK Partnership

There is no greater community on Solana than BONK, which has over 800,000 holders. Gordo the dog, also loves golf, and GolfN was pleased to create a special BONK badge and minting experience for its most loyal holders. In addition to the BONK badge, which has XP earnings potential when cached in the portal, GolfN also worked with BONK to create a special collection of items for the pro shop. App interest list grows +40,000

Anticipation for the public release of the GolfN app continues to grow with over 40,000 emails. If you’re signed up, you’re already receiving updates, education, and special offers from our partners in your inbox.

If you’ve engaged with any of the above items, we’re extremely grateful for your support. GolfN handed out over $20,000 worth of prizes to the community in 2024, from golf trips to Poker Tournament and Moonwalk prizes and weekly quiz events.
