tl;dr
Still holding? Smart move.
Thinking about uncaching? Read the rest first.
Hard to believe it’s been nearly a year since we launched the Caching Portal — the very first step in turning GolfN from an idea into a movement. Long before we hit the App Store, Genesis Collectible holders were already earning GolfN points and shaping the foundation of what we’re building together.
Since then, GolfN has taken off—introducing sweepstakes, collectible badges, and, most notably, launching our Open Beta on iOS. (Android is just around the corner.)
With the app now live, earning GolfN points is no longer just for early adopters. Whether you’ve been caching Genesis sets since day one or just discovered us yesterday, anyone can now tee it up and start earning.
July 1 marks the close of Genesis Points Caching as originally structured—but not the end of the Portal. In fact, only 108,000,000 of the 371,317,167 points allocated over the past 12 months have been claimed. That leaves a massive reserve—roughly 263,000,000 points—still earmarked for cachers.
And that was always the plan.
From the beginning, we designed Caching not just to reward early adopters, but to give us room to grow, strategically holding back supply to support future drops, sustained engagement, and new app-based mechanics.
Now, as we enter this next chapter, those unclaimed points are being repurposed to fuel what’s ahead: limited-time multiplier windows, future pack drop and caching rewards, level-gated redemption events, and on-chain bonuses tied directly to gameplay.
In short: caching isn’t ending. It’s evolving. And for those still holding, the next wave of utility is about to make things very real.
Weekly point drops may be winding down, but Levels are just getting started—and they quietly control one of the most important mechanics in the ecosystem.
Every 30 days your sets stay cached, they level up. And those Levels directly impact your odds in the GolfN Rental Economy. A Common card at Level 1 has a 1x chance of being rented. At Level 10? It has 10x the chance compared to someone holding the same card at Level 1.
The longer your sets stay cached, the better your chances get.
Here’s the bonus: Complete a new set while your account is cached, and it automatically adopts your current Level. That means you can grow your position without losing momentum—new sets instantly match your existing rental odds.
But uncache a set? Your Level resets to 0. No exceptions. No second chances.
So if you’re in this for the long haul—and you should be—stay cached, build your stack, and let your Level do the work.
Genesis Caching was just Phase 1. The Rental Economy is where things get real.
Every Genesis club you own can now be rented out through the GolfN app—and starting now, Genesis holders will earn a fixed 12% of the points generated any time their clubs are used by other players.
Here’s how it works: Players with a membership can rent up to 3 Genesis clubs per round, and that 12% rental fee is split evenly across the three rented clubs. So if your card is in the mix, you’re earning your share of the action—automatically.
This is scalable, ongoing utility tied directly to platform activity. The more golfers playing rounds, the more opportunities for holders to earn.
Let’s look at the big picture:
And the math is on your side: To fully rent out all 7,498 Genesis clubs for a single round, we’d need just ~2,500 users with memberships, since each member can rent up to three clubs per round. And because clubs can be rented multiple times per day, your earning potential only grows as the membership base scales.
No claiming. No management. No extra steps. If your Genesis clubs are cached and available, they’re automatically in the rental pool. Every round played becomes a new chance to earn.
Genesis collectibles aren’t just the first drop—they’re the foundation of the entire GolfN ecosystem.
They’re playable across every season, eligible for ongoing rewards, and built with permanent utility that newer editions can’t match. While future collections will bring fresh designs and time-limited rewards, Genesis clubs will always hold their place as the original meta.
And the real kicker?
GolfN and the Axiom Foundation allocated a fixed pool of $GOLF tokens specifically for Cachers. In Season 1, only about a third of those points were distributed. That leaves roughly 263 million $GOLF tokens still reserved, ready to power future drops, events, and rewards exclusively for set collectors.
So yeah—holding still matters. A lot.
If you’ve spent the last year building and caching Genesis sets, it’s time to shift gears. The next phase is all about playing your clubs—and getting rewarded for it.
Every Genesis club has built-in traits that activate during real rounds, unlocking bonus opportunities based on how you play:
Each club also has an Endurance score, limiting how often it can be used before needing to “regrip.” However, owning multiple sets allows you to rotate clubs and continue playing without missing a beat.
And if you’re holding a GolfN NFT Membership (from Green to Diamond), you can multiply your earnings up to 14.4x per round.
The bottom line: Genesis clubs aren’t just for collecting. They’re built for the course—and now’s the time to play them.
Your Level isn’t just a number—it’s your early access pass.
Soon, your Level will unlock priority access to:
The higher your Level, the earlier you’ll get in. For time-sensitive releases, Level matters.
